Yes, 1.8 has OFFICIALLY been released.

No, NOVSCRAFT is NOT updated to 1.8.
Which means you can NOT play on the server right now.

“Why isn’t the server updated, novs!?”
NOVSCRAFT is powered by a popular Minecraft mod called Bukkit.
Without Bukkit, there would be no such thing as Faction Wars.
It’s absolutely needed in order for any part of our server to function.
And Bukkit is ran by a big community of people who develop it.
In order for Bukkit to include all the new 1.8 features, the Bukkit team needs to update it with the new 1.8 release.
How long it takes the Bukkit team to do this may vary greatly.
It could take 3 hours or it could take 48 hours.
I believe the team said they are 66% done with the new 1.8 Bukkit.
But you never know, they may run into a horrible bug that blows up the main dev’s computer and kills him, meaning no 1.8 Bukkit.

You can stay updated with the Bukkit teams progress by stalking their twitter feed.

ALSO

If you haven’t updated to 1.8 yet then you can still play on NOVSCRAFT on 1.7.3, when it asks you to update just say “No.”
2 people have seemed to do that. And when NOVSCRAFT updates to 1.8 then you can just update your client at next launch.

Currently anyone who is trying to connect to the server will not be able too.
You will receive a “Connection Lost” error.
This is beyond my control, and is up to Notch to fix.
The Minecraft authorization servers must be having issues, and won’t allow people to connect to ANY minecraft server at the moment.

This issue I’d assume will be resolved in the next few hours.

NOVSCRAFT is introducing a second Minecraft server, a Private Survival & Creative Server all in one.

Server Features

Survival – A world strictly survival,  the default Minecraft survival. Griefing IS NOT ALLOWED, and will receive the griefers a 3 week ban. Optional PVP (Turn it on or off for you.)

Creative - A world in the same server that allows you to spawn items, has instant block break, no block pickups (Prevent inventory flooding), and more! Create pixel art, huge works of art, or whatever you like!

Multi-World – Talk to people in the Survival world while you are in the Creative world.

Multi-Inventory – Items you spawn in the Creative world can not be taken to the Survival world, each world has its own inventory.

Private Benefits

Small Community – It keeps the server community small, where everyone knows each other and gets along.

Easy to Spot Griefers - Since the server will be a smaller group of set people, it will be very easy to spot and ban griefers. Making your creations safe.

No Trolls – Seriously, who’s gonna donate $10 a month just to troll a server? Even if they do decide to do that, they will be banned for 3 weeks instantly.

You can still be banned for up to 3 weeks max on this server if you break any of our rules.
You will be warned before you are banned, at least once.

The server is a white-listed server that with a donation of $10 you can get access to for 1 month.

A monthly donation of $10 means you can stay for as long as you’d like.

Warning: When 1.8 comes out it is extremely likely the world will be reset! But who knows when 1.8 is coming out? It’s likely you will lose your items/world/buildings after 1.8 comes out! We might world edit some really nice things built in Creative to the new world but there are no promises!

If you’d like to join in on the server now you can donate $10 and get access to it for 1 month by clicking the below donation button.
This servers donations are SEPARATE from the factions server, any donations to the factions server do not transfer to this server.

It may take as soon as 10 minutes and up to 24 hours for me to add you to the server white-list after your donation!
Please include in the “message to seller” that you want access to the private server and include your EXACT minecraft name.

Also send me an email at novs12@gmail.com saying you donated for the private server and also include your exact Minecraft name in the email too.

New features will be added to this private server as time goes by!

We got a new EXTREMELY POWERFUL Dedicated Server, optimized to run the Minecraft Server with 100-120 people and ZERO lag.

This server was FULLY FUNDED by donators and would NOT be here if it weren’t for all you donators out there!
For the people who understand computer specs, the specs are listed below.

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1270 (New Sandy Bridge Intel technology!)
RAM: 16 GB ECC DDR3 (Error correcting RAM, to automatically fix any memory errors that come across it!)
Primary HDD: 500GB SATA2
Secondary Hard Drive: 32GB Intel X25-E SLC SSD (This one is used for Minecraft! This Hard Drive has a 2 Times as fast read/write than a normal HDD!)
Uplink Port Speed: 100mbps
Bandwidth: 9000GB (3 Times the amount than the last server!)
OS: Windows 2008 Standard (64bit)

Here’s an example of how much more powerful this server is.. Right now at this exact time there are 43 people on the Minecraft server.
The new dedi is running at 20TPS (20TPS is the max TPS a server can run at, aka ZERO LAG.) with 43 people on.
With 43 people on the old dedi we would run on average 1TPS, and sometimes even .03 TPS. Which means the old dedi was moving at an EXTREMELY slow pace, AKA: Major Lag.

This new dedi is definitely what this great community deserved, and it’s all thanks to anyone who has donated to allow us to get this new server!
The new server costs a little over $350 a month, which means we need to keep the donations coming in so we can keep the awesome dedi rolling!
A small donation of just $10, or even $5, will help the server in the hugest way!

If you really love the server, the best way you can help the community is by a monthly donation of even just $5. $5 goes a very long way, so don’t think it wont make a difference!
